That makes it the opposite of brand marketing, which builds familiarity and hopes it pays off later. ## Why it matters Direct response gives you a feedback loop. Every piece has an ask, so every campaign produces a number: how many people acted, at what cost. You can kill what fails and scale what works. Brand campaigns cannot tell you that for months, if ever. The tradeoff is honesty about attribution. A QR scan is direct evidence someone acted on your piece. But B2B buyers often act indirectly: they get a postcard, then google you a week later. Counting only tracked responses undercounts the channel.
